Well, I became pregnant and bought a car seat/stroller combo. The canopy I had purchased wasn't quite long enough for my liking to cover the car seat I bought, so I decided to make one of my own! I hopped onto Pinterest and found a great tutorial, here, and tweaked it my own way. I found a picture of one that I LOVED but it wasn't available anymore on Etsy, so I used that as my inspiration.
I absolutely love how it turned out! The only thing I would've changed is making the hole a little smaller because the flap does like to fall through. I made a matching car seat blanket, and found that tutorial here.
So tiny and so she looks so cozy! The nurse loved it so much that before we put my daughter in the car seat, she took it around to show the other nurses and doctors at the hospital!
About 5-6 months later, my best friend and my sisters friend were both due to have baby boys, so I decided to make them each one as well. I went with something that fit their style and they both loved them!
This time, not only did I make the flap wider than the hole, I added buttons to keep it closed (unlike the velcro I added to mine) as well as added some elastic to the inside on the front to keep the wind from blowing the cover off the car seat! They are super fun and easy to make :) I'm thinking of starting up a small business but then again I see so many nowadays that it's holding me back. I'll just have to make a few and see how quickly they go and decide from there!
